Facebook: Hysham School: What’s Going On Inside

Mark your calendars! This Tuesday evening our band will hold a special concert to help them practice for the District Music Festival in Miles City this weekend. In addition to the group performance, Madison Batey, Jordan McMillian and Daniel Hopf will be performing solo pieces. The concert will start at 7:00pm. Because of this concert, there is no extra community activities at the school Tuesday evening.
The school is in search of someone willing to organize the Kindergarten Roundup. Kindergarten Roundup is generally held for half days during one week of the school year in the spring and is for incoming Kindergartners. These kids get to experience the school routine, activities, and school learning environment. If you are interested in organizing/teaching this, please call the school at 342-5237.
In the individual events, Shay Adler received his State Degree and placed 3rd in the preliminary round of Extemporaneous Speaking. Larisah Moreland gave a speech titled “Saddle Up” for her individual Prepared Speaking contest. She placed 4th in her preliminary round. Neither student passed to the next level. Braden Webb, Reatta Wood & Daniel Hopf each competed in the Montana Farm Bureau speaking event with speeches centered around the topic of social media in agriculture. Reatta placed 6th out of 20 participants. Team results are as follows: Livestock (Larisah Moreland, Jordan McMillian, Teaona Williams, Reatta Wood) 54th out of 90 teams, Agronomy (Preston Long, Jordan McMillian, Payton Zent, Gabe Eves) 53rd out of 90 teams, Mechanics (Shay Adler, Payton Zent, Preston Long, Gabe Eves) 44th out of 90 teams. Shay Adler, Max Pokies, Preston Long & Braden Webb also competed in the Sales competition but results are not available at this time. The whole chapter competed in the National Chapter award and placed 13th out of 90 chapters. Within the application, Hysham FFA placed 1st in Excellence in Community Development by Montana Department of Agriculture. Hysham FFA wishes to thank the community for their support in all of chapter’s activities. These kids worked extra hard on all their events and deserve a round of applause. Keep up the great work!!!!
There is no school of any sort this Friday but be on the lookout for St. Labre signup sheets for Next Friday, April 27th!
